I keep on pausing...Any tips?

Seems that you are trying to look ahead, but can't find the piece you are trying to look-ahead for... Get better at tracking by solving 2 F2L pairs at once (blindfolded), or get Cubesmith bright set stickers :3. Focus on a no-pause-solve by slowing down just a bit...
I might have been ninja'd, but I didnt read the thread because I have a feeling its just 4 pages of "Slow down and Lookahead".

Should I practice more with the beginners method, or should I go on learning F2L? With all those posts, I'm getting a bit confused here...

I do solve F2L slowly to try to see the next pair.

Just keep practicing. Once you get to sub 40 seconds its going to help you even more. As for now just work on your execution you can easily get to 45 seconds with a choppy style.

fridrich you will benefit more in the long run if you keep practicing fridrich.

The thing is to practice Fridrich until you know how to do the different types of edge-corner pairs without thinking much and can solve the cube in like 40+s, then you practice go slow and lookahead and last layer OLL + PLL algorithms until you reach 20+s.

I think most normal humans can practice and go very slowly and do 20+s. To be sub-20 then you need to do more perfectly and go slightly faster. I can't tell you how cos I am not there.

Just work on getting the biginner method down to where you don't have to think about the cases. and work on some simple finger tricks/ exercises. R U R' U' R U' R' F and some others. but just keep practicing. Looking ahead won't do squat for you right now. I am sub 35s and I am still working TIRELESSLY at it. practice practice practice. also, slowing down on beginners method is a stupid idea. Why would you slow down when it's already slow enough? idk just practice. there are few algs in the method so don't worry about anything else right now. my friend has been cubing about 2 weeks and is already down to 1min 14sec. and all he did was memorize beg. method and did it over and over. and he now is learning f2l. he is just smart I guess.

Are you sure? I average at around 1:30.

When you begin F2L your times will get slower however, as you improve you will begin to see better times. So, don't panic if you notice your times a bit slower at first. Also, be sure to look at the wiki for some F2L cases, lots of different ways to solve various cases.
