Hello all. I am new, and I can solve the rubiks cube 1:20. I know, how to solve all layers one by one, but I want to get faster! What should I learn? I dont want to get into f2l yet...I want to be below 1 minute, before I do F2L.

I think you should just go for the F2L why wait?

You could try getting fast at keyhole method to speed up second layer (search rubik's cube keyhole in youtube for a turorial).

you just need to practice. i was doing the same thing you should be able to get what your doing down to about 55 then learn some pll and oll algorithms

yo huroni yeah practice predicting what happen after the moves you make in LBL to increase your speed and keyhole is another good way to increase it too...also use finger tricks if you want...I can't cause I have a stiff and fake cube

Quick question, on last layer do you get cross then solve corners with R' D' R D?

well I don't use your algos... I still use the beginner method for last layer
by solve do you mean orient?and swap?

Are you solving w/ cross on top? Work with cross on bottom. With a pure beginners method, I can avg sub-30 seconds. If I recall right, Joel Van Noort did a sub-20 avg with a beginners method. Keep practicing. But I wouldn't recommend solving the entire cube with cross color on top.

well, is this the only reason, for when I solve with cross on top, I save 13 seconds or more than if I try it on the bottom.
