Hi everyone!
Here's what I hope will be a short intro.
I'm getting pretty good at solving the 3x3 using the CFOP method. My best solve so far was under a minute, but that was only because I landed on a Sune that in turn resolved the entire PLL, no more moves required. I got lucky. REALLY lucky. I don't know what the odds of that happening are, which is what led to me this site in the first place. My average solve on the 3x3 is probably around three or four minutes, with some truly bad solves at around ten minutes.
I'm also working on mastering the 4x4, and I have a 5x5, 7x7, 8x8, and 9x9 in various states of undress. Err, I mean scramble. I have four of six centers solved on all of them, and am just starting to learn to solve the other two before moving on to edge pairing. I want to buy an 11x11 and 13x13 when I get the money.
I also have a 3x3 Pyraminx (easy, let's face it) and a 4x4 Pyraminx that I just received yesterday. I anticipate it being easy too, but I haven't even twisted it yet. I bought a 3x3 twisted cube and immediately discovered that what I anticipated being no harder than a conventional cube is, in fact, considerably harder because there are moves that can't be made on it. I plan to dig into the mechanics of it further on my own before starting to watch YouTube videos on it.
Finally, I have a Pyraminx, Megaminx, and Teraminx (which spellcheck on my iMac insists on autoincorrecting to Terminix). I've started figuring out how to handle the first two layers of the Pyraminx on my own, but haven't progressed beyond that yet. I anticipate buying a Petaminx some day.
