hey, this is my first post so yeah :p
i was just wondering, does anybody have any other methods of getting your PLL time attacks faster rather than just doing PLL time attacks over and over again? ive tried practising indivual algorithms and i just cant seem to improve on my times, even over the span of several sessions during a week.

so far i average around 3-4 seconds on most PLLS and barely hitting 1.8-2.5 seconds for the U algorithms, even my 3-cycles are pretty weak...i usually hit 3.5 seconds on those :(

on the other hand i have improved on my f2l from the time i started learning fridrich; i cut down my 30 second f2l down to an average of about 10-13 seconds, but i still hit 25+ second solves because my LL is really slowing me down.

i know like 30 of the olls so far but im generally faster with them than my plls, and yeah you should get the idea by now.

so to recap if you didnt wanna read all that junk up there, do you guys have any suggestions on how to get my PLL algorithms faster?

Time attacks and practice are probably the best way, but I find that if you really understand the algorithm, knowing how it works and such, your times can also improve. Try different algorithms to see which ones you like best (heavy R, U for more moves or less moves but less finger tricky) and find one that works best for you. Also try doing the algorithms from different angles, using different grips, et cetera. Most practice though. So yeah.

Practice, practice, practice.
Actually, to avoid tediousness, I would just do regular solves regularly. Whenever you execute a PLL algorithm slowly, go back and practice it. That way, you don't have to sit down and practice algorithms for any long time, which I find less fun than regular solving.

thanks guys, and ive already started to experiment with algorithms from different angles, mainly with the j's and r's but im gonna expand on that soon. :)

Yea, speed will come with time. I still have a few slow PLL's, so I've changed the algorithms that I'm using, and it has worked for the best (sub-2.5 v perm!!!!!!!!!)

PLL timeattacks help alot. I've got my total from 95 seconds down to 75 by doing them all the time. Another way is to consistently do an algorithm until you break a certain time, like first 5s then 4.5 etc. If one feels far too slow, look in the PLL collection post and try the others there, chances are there will be a faster one.

thanks again guys, ive tried spending a few minutes doing timeattacks over and over, and ive actually cut down my time by 15 seconds! :) and i find that when i relax my fingers and lessen the pressure in my fingers, i can generally do most plls faster! any othre tips?

juz play at normal. and ur recognition time for pll will go down, so will your execution time.. my pll time attack got from 1.30 to 5x without me knowing it...

Try listening to music while doing them!

I've found that my times (and pll's of course) are quite a bit quicker when I am listening to music and not so much concentrating on the cube.

Your eyes and subconcious will do all the work.

Well taht works for me anyway not sure about others.
