How to set up cyclone boys G4?

Hi guys, I've broken in the puzzle with the factory lube and i've taken it apart. After cleaning out the residue plastic and lubricant I tensioned it to make it slightly looser. Mainly I just turned the screws so that they are a little less than halfway to the top "node" that 4x4s have on the center stocks. I mainly focused on making the tensions even and not a lot looser because at stock tensions it already popped on me a few times (was forcing it).

I hear using weight 3 lube will make this cube really good, but should I lube the internal pieces or should I just put the cube back together and dump the lube on the pieces?

From my personal experience, assembling the inner pieces becomes a pain when they are lubed. They became very slippery, so it was much easier to assemble when I left them without any lube.
