I have this pretty good Edison cube that I use.
The stickers are shiny (I don't really mind) but after less than a week of using, they are already starting to peel.

So, I thought, at my school there are people with cheap tiled cubes.
and there's this one guy thats willing to sell me his tiled cube for ~$3

But, can I just get the cube, peel the tiles off, then glue them onto my Edison cube? Or is there something else I have to do?

Thanks

You can stick an thin knife (exacto, utility) under the tiles, and if you're careful to not chip/crack them, you should be able to glue them back on your edison.

Or you can buy some from Cubesmith.

Yeah, your best bet is to splurge and get cubesmith tiles($5+$2 shipping) or you could buy stickers from cubesmith(~$1.25+$2 shipping) which will last much longer than the original stickers that came with your cube.

I don't really want to go online and buy tiles from cubesmith.

Anyway,

I get an exacto knife, chip it under the tiles, then peel them off.
Then, I take all the stickers off my cube and try and get rid of the gunk.
Finally, I get PVC glue/Super Glue and put a tiny bit on the tiles, then stick it on?

Is that right? o-0

I switched some cubesmith tiles from a type C to a GuHong when they first turned up.
(I made witeden and CS orders on the same day and witeden's package turned up almost 2 weeks before CS).

I tried to remove them as carefully as I could with a plastic razor blade but some of the glue got scraped off from the edges and resulted in corners lifting up.
This could easily be solved with dabs of super glue but I'm far too OCD for that and just retiled it when the CS order came through.

So if they are CS then it's doable but they might not transfer perfectly.

Edit. Sorry just reread your post.
Plastic tiles are removable with a knife. Carefully.
If you are throwing the cube away afterwards putting the pieces in hot water might soften the glue.

I'd prefer to make my own stickers. That's what I do.

I had to, cause I have a godly storebought cube (broken in, lubed, everything), and I cannot be bothered to go through that process again, but my stickers were so battered that you couldn't even recognize the colours on them anymore.

Buying them on the internet is not an option either cause 'free shipping' sites don't sell stickers, and websites that do so ask a shipping fee, so I made my own. :D
