Hey guys Im trying to learn 2LOLL and Full PLL, and am struggling with how I should go about memorizing the algs. Any advice?

I used the search function, and I couldn't find this question pre-answered, and there are probably multiple people with multiple tips, so I won't complain about this thread

How I did it, is decide what OLL I want to learn, solve the cube normally, and when you get to OLL, if you have that OLL, use an alg sheet to solve it, otherwise, do what you normally do, repeat for every OLL, or pll of course

Pick one and do it over and over again until you can do it by muscle memory, then move onto another one. Don't learn them all in a hurry, take your time and don't move onto new ones until you're familiar enough with the ones you already know.

step 1) read alg
step 2) do alg.
step 3) This is the hard part. Do the alg without reading alg. It's okay if you mess up at first but keep trying until you don't.
step 4) Possibly the hardest part...most people don't get this. Repeat until you can do step 3.

Learn at your own pace, some people struggle learning 1 or 2 a day, whereas some people can leanr full pll in 2 days, the only tips that can be given are brute force the memo, they will be hard at first but some are mirrors or inverses and they will get easier

Yeah i agree:) This is how I do it and find it very efficient.

in the past 2 weeks i have memmed all PLLs and 2 look oll(except G perms), what I did was the same. Read alg, perform it. Read alg, perform it. After a little of this, i feel convinced that i can do it without reading and I do so. If any problem comes, i read it once again and try to. Most important thing is to do them slowly and focus on your muscle and hand movements rather than just applying your cramming skills. Try to feel how your cube is moving . The ideal stage when you know an algorithm is when you can perform the algorithm, without saying R , U , R' etc. i.e your mind and fingers know which direction to move and everything comes spontaneously. When you reach this stage, try to perfect your finger tricks on it.
Make sure you check out at least 7-8 algorithms before deciding which algo u are going to learn. Dont use the algorithm which looks cool. Do the one which has less regrips and you can perform it the fastest, it varies for different people. You can check out the algorithms from following sites(i use these)
1 speedsolving wiki
2 Bob Burton's algs , he gives videos along with them, http://www.cubewhiz.com/pll.html http://www.cubewhiz.com/oll.html
3.badmephisto's algs http://www.badmephisto.com/pll.php http://www.badmephisto.com/oll.php
(Personally, i just remembered the alg which looked shorter rather than trying all of them , thinking as a noob that shorter means faster, and now i m working hard to switch my algorithms to new ones, So it is very important to choose nice algorithms in the 1st place)
Hope this helps :)
