How to enter in WCA comps

Oh right, I forgot to mention, before you register for any competition, READ THE WCA REGULATIONS! You should at the very least know the important ones, because it's not knowing the rules that can get you disqualified, your solve considered a +2 or higher, and more. So, you need to be fully aware of how you can make sure you get the shortest time possible. Also, I recommend learning how to become color neutral, because during competitions you will only have 15 seconds of inspection. So, learn to quickly identify what the easiest color of solving the cube on would be.

You pretty much have to scan the wca almost every day. You have to enter as soon as registration opens. Maybe start grinding the events a months before?
yep, definitely my morning, afternoon, and evening routine everyday, check WCA for comps

I've never been to a comp before, and I really want to. I was last year, but I missed the time to enter. How do I know the best time to enter for a comp, when should I start grinding for the comp, and what happens in the comp?
Good luck and enjoy the comp experience.

Like everyone said register early and keep an eye out for nearby comps.

I am definetely color neutral with 2x2, but with 3x3, not so much. I still have trouble doing F2L on the yellow cross.

There's no need to check the WCA site at all for new competitions. Just sign up at:

You'll get emails telling you anytime a new comp in your country is announced. You can then look up the comp and see when registration opens up.

Another one is to choose one of these options:
1. Only select one random event, then register. You will be able to change your events later anyway
2. Know beforehand which events you want to compete in, and set those to be your favorite events. The website will automatically select your favorite events, and therefore you can click register right away.
The latter is faster because you don't have to select events at all.
Do you mean preferred events?
