I always get discouraged looking at world records, which can dissuade me from practicing events that I don't normally practice. But I had a thought -- if you want to become the best cuber in the world, you don't need to break any records (though some may disagree, of course), you just need to have the best overall KinchRank, which, if you don't know, is Daniel Sheppard's improvement upon sum of ranks that uses a sort of percentile system.

The best cuber currently by these standards is Jayden McNeill, who has a KinchRank of 65.90. You don't need to beat all of his specific times, though, to overtake that spot -- you just need to beat his average KinchRank. This means that you need a KinchRank in each event of at least 65.91 to take the top spot. Here are those minimum times that you would need to get, and you would need to have at least all of these times, to be the best cuber in the world:

2x2: 2.29 average
3x3: 9.06 average
4x4: 34.94 average
5x5: 1:10.16 average
6x6 2:13.20 average
7x7: 3:24.93 average
3BLD: 27.78 single *OR* 34.40 average
FMC: 28 single *OR* 36.67 average
OH: 15.64 average
Feet: 42.72 average
Mega: 53.33 average
Pyra: 3.10 average
Clock: 7.94 average
Skewb: 3.98 average
Sq-1: 12.82 average
4BLD: 2:23.62 single
5BLD: 5.45.17 single
Multi: 28 points

Still pretty tough to be sure, but all of these individually are more achievable than trying to set a world record, so maybe it can give some of us scrubs some hope :)

I think you divided by 69.51% instead of 65.91%? These are the times I got:

2x2: 2.29 average
3x3: 9.06 average
4x4: 34.94 average
5x5: 1:10.16 average
6x6 2:13.20 average
7x7: 3:24.93 average
3BLD: 27.78 single *OR* 34.40 average
FMC: 28 single *OR* 36.67 average
OH: 15.64 average
Feet: 42.72 average
Mega: 53.33 average
Pyra: 3.10 average
Clock: 7.94 average
Skewb: 3.98 average
Sq-1: 12.82 average
4BLD: 2:23.62 single
5BLD: 5.45.17 single
Multi: 28 points

Marginally more doable :p

If Feliks just decided to forget about his main events for a few months and focused on the rest, then it would be incredibly difficult to ever surpass him in this ranking.

Interestingly, the easiest way for Feliks to take the #1 spot would be just to get a feet mean of 2:02 seconds, which would be the slowest in the Oceania rankings (only just). Obviously never going to happen though.

FMC is easily achievable, some of the rest are good, but not completely amazing. Then you get MBLD, 4BLD and 5BLD. Those are all going to take a lot of work...

I think these are more realistic. (all mean/average except BLD events)

2x2: 2.00 (you can get this or lower without even learning full EG)
3x3: 8.3
4x4: 32
5x5: 1:05
6x6: 2:00
7x7: 3:00
3BLD: 30
FMC: 29 (really not difficult compared to other events)
OH: 14
Feet: 45
Mega: 53
Pyra: 3.7 (scramble dependent, anyone who is comfortably sub 4 can probably do better)
Clock: 7.5 (I don't do clock, I based this off intuition)
Skewb: 3.7 (again, scramble dependent, but it's not hard to get lower)
Square-1: 12 (not very difficult to get lower either)
4BLD: 5:00 (see clock)
5BLD: 10:00 (again, see clock)
MBLD: ~21 points (I was too lazy to calculate the actual kinchrank for this, I just used 50)

Most of these are just my opinions, and are likely somewhat biased because of the events I practice. I also think that in reality, most people would have at least one main event which will be better than the above times.

This gives 65.99 kinchranks.
