Guys i average around 20-30 seconds and best time is 23 seconds and need help getting faster i have already learnt all pll and have learn about 30 of the OLL can any one help me to get faster any tips/ hints

Cross-2 seconds
F2L- 8 seconds (2 seconds per slot)
OLL- 1.5 seconds
PLL- 2.5 seconds

Compare your breakdown to that one and see what you need to work on also don't forget to practice, practice and more practice :) Learn all OLL's gradually, i havent bothered, lol.

I average 15 seconds give or take half a second, and i know most OLL, i don't know the dot ones and the 'awkward' shape ones.

Have fun.

This belongs in the beginner's section. There are so many pointless questions like this.

At what average do you think does someone stop being a beginner and start being a speedcuber, if I may ask?

Having an average in low- or mid-20s does mean one has allready spent an aweful lot of time on the cube.

He probably allready knew that he would have to keep on practicing whatever would be suggested before you started being rude and calling it a stupid question.
Questions can't be stupid, only answers can.

I think his problem at the moment is that he hasn't good a good clue on what to improve exactly.

I would go with what Leviticus wrote:
Get an overview of your breakdown and you'll probably see what's most worth to improve on at the moment.

speedcubing isnt when you solve it under a certain time, its when you want to complete it faster than your previous time.

No, it's not. But I don't think you need to be good to be a speedcuber. Do you have to hold any records or win any matches to be a swimmer? How about a chess player? Aren't you a sports player by just playing a sport? I think speedcubing works the same way.

9.57 is faster then 10 minutes and if your trying to get 9.57, obviously your trying to get faster, thus your a speedcuber. Going by your rules Charles, your not a speedcuber and neither am i.

Wow. How did this discussion start?

I meant the question is insignificant. It's not really asking anything of substance. That's why it is a beginner question.

If Harris Chan makes a post like this (I hope not ;)), it would still be a beginner question.

that person and us are both trying to lower the time. but i dont think someone tries to get 9.57 with a pb of 10 minutes, still he is trying to get his time down to somewhere

Threads like this are born under the misconception that sub15 requires a magical secret.

That secret is practice and dedication

You average 20-30 secs, but your best time is 23 ? I don't get how that would work.

Well, going from 20 sec average to 15 secs average will still take awhile, improving speed gradually gets harder as you get faster.

What will help is having a smooth and fast F2L, sub 10 preferably. Learning all the OLLs will definitely help you, saving .6 seconds to do the F R U... move is still .6 seconds. haha.

Which ones are the "awkward" ones?
