How old were you when you started cubing?

I first got a Rubik's cube (those awful 1$ cubes that explode when you do a fast algorithm) when I was 10 (~2004), but the best I could do back then was solve 1 face with the pieces not permuted :S

At around December '08, when I was 13, I bought another of those 1$ cubes out of curiosity to solve the cube. I (I'm ashamed to admit) used Pogobat's tutorial to solve it with the beginner's method, but never completely memorized the method.

I then stopped cubing again until June '09 (at 14 years old), which is when I got a store-bought. I learned keyhole + Edge Orient/permute + corner commutators, and eventually found out about the Fridrich Method. My store-bought is still my main cube as of today :o (I don't trust shopping online and have no clue where else to get a DIY...)

Oh cool, Stachu, Sarah, and I started around the same time.
I never knew that. Also, I thought Sarah was younger than me. 0:
Brendon, Sarah, You, Justin, Forte, and I are all the same age. And Katie Sosik, but she doesn't cube enough :p
And Jules is about the same age as us, but is in a lower grade.
uh no, Brendon is 18 and Justin is 16.

Lol. I didn't know Jules was in a lower grade.

I prefer the older teen generation out of all the cubers, but I don't want to ignore the adult cubers. They're much more significant than I am. D:

Online shopping is safe and reliable. All but one of my many cubes was brought online and that was the storebrought Rubiks's brand 3x3 on 22/10/2007 which is the very first cube owned.

And places like cubeforyou, dealextreme, dealperfect do sell DIY 3x3 cubes. And Ebay sellers sells cubes of all sizes.

Started last year at 14 with a really old and ancient cube that i found lying around. then spent my birthday money on a storebought after watching a guy in my class solve it quite fast. only this year have i started learning fridrich but my avg is slowly getting faster. when i first joined i was probably 1min 30 now maybe 50 sec with common 45 sec solves. still not very consistent though. hoping to get sub 30 by christmas and to find more speedcubers in south australia :D
oh yea and im 16 now :D

Now that I think about it, I didn't solve the cube till I was 14, but I did play with one since I was 8 (?).
