I have only been cubing since November 2019, but have acquired 14 3x3 cubes, not as a collection, but through seeking the one that felt right. Finally found it with the gan 11 pro m soft texture. I’ve had it 5 weeks and bought two more to put away for later, and all the others have been reboxed and put in the closet except for a stickered tengyun v2, stickered gan xs and a stickerless valk 3 elite m which I plan to rubberize per the video by Cyoubx.

I would first rubberize a cheaper cube. It takes 1 bad attempt to get it right.
 
My current puzzle count is 53.

Most of them are recent puzzles purchased within the last year and a half, but a few are very old cubes and a couple of them are kit-bashed cross trainers.

Sorry to resurrect old thread but as I have been casually cubing for 15-odd years I thought it might be interesting to review my small collection. Every few years I rediscover cubing, latest was this past week when I found my old 4x4. My best 3x3 time is 42 secs. I switched from Petrus to Roux.

Historically important cubes are bolded and still in my possession. Italicized cubes are no longer in my active possession.

3x3:
Rubik's 25th Anniversary (MB) - my first cube, storebought c.2005/6. Mirrored/reflective side instead of white. Terrible stickers.
Rubik's brand - Stickers eventually replaced with Cubesmith lexan tiles.
Rubik's 40th Anniversary (WM) - Storebought. This is very confusing because Rubik's technically celebrates 2 anniversaries - the cube was invented in 1974 but marketed in 1980.
1-2x Novelty cubes - branded versions from businesses.
3x3 Keychain cube - unknown brand, just a novelty, now lost.

"Koll" cube (black) - 2012 era, not sure when/where purchased. I believe this one was a modded version of a Cube4You series, like a Type A-I or Type C. The sticker says "Koll" or something like that. Back in the days when everyone was DIY'ing their cubes.
Cube4You/ GuoJia Alpha V (modded) - 2012, Speedsolving.com forums. Was my main for a while. This was shortly after top cubers had moved on to the Dayan / torpedo designs. (edit: found it -- I miss how crispy this cube is! Would love a modern cube that felt like this. Pops like crazy tho)

MoFang JiaoShi MF3RS (black) - 2018, TheCubicle, I never solved it much. Honestly don't know where it is nowadays, shame :(
MoFang JiaoShi Cubing Classroom Mini (stickerless) - 2018, TheCubicle free gift. Lost it for a while but found it in an old backpack in 2021 :D It turns really smooth with almost no setup, but tough to handle due to its size.
QiYi Sail W (white) - 2021, TheCubicle $3 mystery puzzle. Sandy with tight tensions out of the box but I honestly like it for casual solving. Might give it away to someone

GAN11 M Pro (stickerless black) - 2024, TheCubicle. Default tensions too tight
MoYu WeiLong WRM V10 UV Special Edition (green) - 2024, TheCubicle. Smooth and snappy feeling with some FZ Calm

2x2: not really my event, but I have a few
Lanlan 2x2 (black, unmagnetized) - 2012 Speedsolving.com forums. Don't have many details on it and it's missing currently, I was trying to give it away for a while. I remember it being quite chalky-feeling.
YJ MGC 2x2 (stickerless) - 2021 TheCubicle. Extremely sandy, stuttery and scuffed out of the box. Unimpressed.
QiYi Carbon Fiber 2x2 - 2024 TheCubicle free gift. not magnetized but I like the way it looks best of anything here

4x4: meh
Rubik's Revenge 4x4 - not sure when bought. Probably 2013-17 sometime?
YJ MGC 4x4 (stickerless) - 2021 TheCubicle. Sandy out of box with pleasingly snappy magnets.

Pyraminx: 2ez4me (to be interested in)
X-Man Bell (stickerless) - 2021 TheCubicle. Nothing to say about it, it's a fine puzzle, I don't like the event much

Skewb: why won't it stay still???
MoYu AoYan (stickerless) - 2021 TheCubicle. A nice snappy magnetic feel but a very wiggly puzzle overall, I don't like this category.

Misc:
Lefun Christmas Tree 3x2x1 - 2024 TheCubicle free gift, pretty silly puzzle, it's hanging on my fridge

Lubes:
CRC Silicone Spray - what a pain in the ass it used to be to lube your cubes back in the day...
Maru Lube - this stuff always evaporated super fast and made your cube go from uncontrollable to dry
Traxxus 50k - my go-to for springs, and until 2024 my only lube
FZ Calm - a great go-to for everything
Lubicle Speedy - haven't gotten the hang of using this yet

So 9-10 or so puzzles overall. edit: updated for 2021! now 17 puzzles or so.
