How many algorithms should you learn for F2L?

2 Look is a option, but if anyone is going to use 2 llook (e.g me) you should know partial edge control too as it can save some time.
A bit random idk but :
Tbh not wanting to learn 1 look is why i learnt APB (yes ik theres way more algs in that but you can get decent without alot of them)
knowing when to sledge or not to sledge is good enough imo

At 48 cases you're already past the point where more F2L algs will help — that's more than enough for sub-20, honestly. The rotations are the real leak, and that's a different problem than learning more cases.

What I'd do is go back through the cases you keep rotating on and learn the rotationless or back-slot version for just those few, instead of trying to relearn everything. That, plus some slow solves where you track the next pair while you finish the current one, will do more than another 10 algs.

For what comes next, I'd go 2-look OLL, then full PLL, and keep working on lookahead in between — this lays out that order pretty clearly: https://cubemastery.com/cfop-method-guide/
