How long do Diy cubes last for until they break or they are unusable?

uhh lets say you use it everyday and speedcube pretty well like 2-3 hours a day(with silicon lube inside it). whats a good estimate of how long they last? not the stickers, just the plastic structure and core etc. probaly like 2 years and they show signs of too much breaking in?

Hmmm, from personal experience, the only cube that is now unusable would be my first ever storebought.

It is so loose, that it cannot be handled easily without pops, and that was after 5 months.

I usually give away diys or lose them before they wear out on me.

I have been using my black type A since March 2008, and it has only gotten better. I will be very sad if it breaks, since it is such a good cube. East Sheen 4x4s and 5x5s are notorious for wearing out, but I don't know of any other cubes that are guaranteed to do so.

rubiks diys are better than C4Y diy's (quality wise) which is a fact i dont want people being like oh yeah dont be hatin on C4Y diys in a type a they come crappy like 3-6 months for me

My nicest cube is a C4Y type a which I have been using for one and a half year now. Extremely smooth, and great, if you can control it ;). I have built 6 Rubik's DIYs (for me and friends of mine) and none of them is really good compared to the asian ones. So it may be just a thing of preference.

I have never had unusable DIYs yet.

But I have had 1 "dead" Eastsheen 4x4 of which I made a big 2x2. (That 4x4 was sooo loose, it was really uncomfortable to turn)
and one Eastsheen 5x5 that is a bit too loose, but it is still ok.
