How long did it take you to get fast?

I've been cubing for exactly 2 months today with a nonlucky pb of 13.24. Do you think I could be the next Feliks?

I'm 42 and I have a 32 second average and a 20 second single after about 7 months.

That's kind of where I'd like to be in that time frame.

Did you do anything special, or just solve a lot?
OK, after 3 months and 3 weeks my ao12 is about 35 seconds, and I have a non-lucky single of 23, and a lucky single of 20.

For practise, I tend to just solve over and over as you don't have to think about it. However the times when I have improved the most have been when I do more targeted practise, which unfortunately is not very often.

I've been cubing four months now. I'm like sub 22 with a PB of 13.60 and ao5 PB of 18.63.

1 month for sub20 single, 1 year for sub 10 single, 3 years in total now and im scratching at the sub10 averages (though 3x3 isnt my main event anymore)

1 year using CFOP. PB: 13.90s I average around 18s. My problem was I used beginner's method for a very long time and didn't learn good algs from the start so I ended up adjusting agein. lol

My gosh, either people ITT are e-statting or I'm just not very good. 3.5 months and I'm averaging 34 seconds with a PB of 24 seconds.

I've been cubing for nearly two years now, I guess I can say that I'm sub 25 now. only was sub 25 a few months ago. i was stuck on the sub 25-30 part for so long. but going for sub 35 was like easy.

Uhg. 2 months and non luck pb of 42. Why are others so much better than me :|

1. People are different.
2. Some people have more time to put into it than others.
3. Some people train in a more focussed way.

If you are just straight solving you will not improve as fast as someone who is targeting their weak areas systematically.

When I just solve I get faster pretty slowly. When I train specific parts of my solve, I get faster faster.

I wouldn't sweat it. As long as you are improving, you are moving in the right direction.

I'm about the same as you. 3 months and 3 weeks cubing. ao12 is just under 35 seconds, PB of 20, non-lucky PB is 23.67.

I've seen some people on these type of threads who say they took over a year or whatever to get sub-20, but now they are sub-15.

I think if you keep at it you will get faster.

I have been cubing for about 2 years with a 6-7 month hiatus in between. After getting back into it 3 weeks ago, i am averaging high 14 seconds or low 15.
