Im beginning to learn full PLL and i want to know. how do you figure out set-up moves? and how do you tell what cubies go where with all of those arrows?

All PLL set-up moves (excluding A's, U's and G's) are the PLL itself.
And the arrows are there to tell you which piece goes where lol.
For instance... Z perm:

The double arrow means those edges are being swapped.

I use Dan Harris' site to recognise PLLs and keep executing algorithms to see which one is good.

When I learned PLL I just kept doing the algorithms until I got them down. Recognition comes in after a while of doing it naturally. If you're lazy like I am, learn some mirrors/inverses and that takes the count down to ~14.

Recognize the situation, AUF if needed, look at where evrything needs to go, and perform. I rarely like doing x y z rotations, but at least it relieves the pain of performing B and B' moves. The only hard part is probably the 4 G Perms.

same, when I was learning the PLLs I learned them from cubestation.co.uk.

The arrows show which cubies need to be swapped or cycled with each other. The cubies that don't have arrows point to them are already solved.

I am learning that G perm is among the slowest for me too. The execution is not very smooth.

I am in the process of learning full PLL. I find just picking one per day and doing continuously until it is basically just muscle memory. I agree that the G perms are the slowest/hardest to learn and recognise.

Recognition is not a big problem for me. Executing the G perm is the problem, it's quite a troublesome and interruptive algorithm for me. Time to look at Wiki.
