i just wonder how anyone is doing his cross when having finished reduction on big cubes. i personally simply put every piece i see in its solved position using as few moves as possible and then i go for the next cross piece.

I think the question is valid, but suboptimally phrased. I think what the OP is trying to ask is how many pieces of the cross you look for before trying to solve it. He then goes on to say that he does them one at a time--in other words, find one piece of the cross and solve it optimally, then look for the next, and so on.

Personally, I usually get at least two and often three pieces of the cross using lookahead before I start the 3x3x3 stage. I strongly suspect that most of the better big cube solvers have enough look ahead to take all four into account.

do you really? I usually put them in the wrong place on purpose and throw in some unnecessary moves just to spice things up a bit. I never thought of putting them where they belong in the fewest number of moves!

the difference is hard to describe: you can look around for all pieces and solve all of them or you can just solve 1st piece 2nd piece...
do you understand?

inspecting in order to achieve optimal moves is a waste of time. solve what you see and look ahead and you should still get decent move counts.

i just did a few no-inspection and got 6, 8, 8, 6, 7, 7 so its really not a big deal as long as you look ahead

Just do it as I see them, usually end up seeing another one or two while putting one in, and create a solution for myself that results in 7 - 9 moves total
