I've had my megaminx for about 5 months, lubed it and started solving it. Later on I slowly stopped when i only had a 4 minute average, now I've decided to try again with the megaminx but I'm not really good at look ahead, how do you improve. It turns ok.. i guess, I bought it off puzl.co.cuk by the way.

My first megaminx was from puzl.co.uk and never seemed to be any good. My friend had one that was good though. Maybe just a case of getting lucky with the cubes. Just buy a mf8 II or something and break it in.

Mine is good, but I've never tried any other ones. I am planning to make a mod for them though, so it might get a lot better

Just solve over and over again, if you aren't familiar with F2L then learning that is the first step. Also the quality of the megaminx has very little to do with it. My megaminx was really tight and didn't turn that well (ask drewsopchak) but I was still able to get times in the 1:20's. Once you have finished F2L on the Megaminx, have an order as to how you are going to do the pieces and always do the same or almost the same order that way you spend less time trying to figure out what piece to solve and more time solving.

PRACTICE!!!! Do 3000000 solves a day, your times will drop trust me, oh and do do relaxed solves, That way you can take some nice and slow; there is also the fact that the dodecahedron needs to be modded, or it needs to be replaced by an Mf8 or Mefferts; once you get < 1:30 sart learning aalgs from http://sites.google.com/site/permuteramera/home, besides I hate runon senteces, that is why megaminx is awsome; dont you feel the smae way?
