How can I make my cube more gummy?

Ha ha, I knew I would get that response. I have still never seen a puzzle ruined by Vaseline (in 33 years) though I acknowledge it's probably not suitable for speed cubes. I am really curious to see what damage it's supposed to do.

It supposedly damages the plastic however I have 5 year old Rubik's brand mods which have the Vaseline I originally put in them with no signs of damage.

Anyone happen to have access to scales with accuracy to 0.001g? If so please soak a piece in Vaseline for a month and see if there is a difference in weight.

I have a milligram scale but can tell you without even firing it up that yes, of course, it would weigh more. Why wouldn't it?

To make a plastic surface tacky you could dab a little acetone nail polish remover on it and wipe it off.
