Hey y'all,

I have no idea how I can get faster on 3x3. I already have a decent cube but I currently use the beginner's method with an extremely simplified version of OLL and PLL at the end. My times average around 40 - 50 seconds.

Dearest Regards, CubingHulayian

Learning full OLL and PLL are not issues right now. when I was averaging this, I watched JPerms video on intuitive F2L. This dropped my times by at least 10-15 seconds. Improving your TPS is helpful. Like around 8-9 TPS is good. When you start to average around 30, Learn full PLL and watch brodythecubers video on Two-Alg OLL. Use this fir awhile. Be sure to do untimed solves to find good solutions, and slow solves to improve lookahead. Work ALOT on F2L, and learn good algs for cases. Sub-20 solves should be like 2 second cross/9-10 second F2L/7-8 second Last Layer.

Even if you average 8-9 TPS with old Pochmann you will be sub 30(for 3x3, I think).

Edit- Since Averageof12 suggested getting to 8-9 TPS before sub 30, I was basically just saying that no matter what method you use, even averaging 250 moves, you can be sub 30 with 8-9 TPS.

Even though I have high tps, I do not use cross->first pair, so I pause
between then, and I pause between last slot and last layer.
TPS is the overall turns per second in a solve. So if you do 45 moves at 12 TPS you will get a 3.75 and even 49 moves at 10 TPS is a sub 5. Your TPS is around 3.5 to 4.5.
