How can I get faster at my mirror blocks?

So even though I solve the regular 3x3 in about 40 seconds, my times for the mirror blocks go waywaywaywaywayway up I know it's harder recognition but does anyone have any tips?

I am color neutral, but not shape neutral. I always start the cross on the thinnest layer, as your eyes can (generally) recognize smaller shapes rather than bigger ones. Plus, that means that the OLL and PLL will stand out more, since they are bigger. For the OLL, you can see that the shapes sort of "look" like the corresponding color OLL. The no edges complete/all corners complete OLL still looks like a cage to me, the one that can be generated by F (U R U' R')2 F' still looks like two hammers. This is the best I can say without actually getting it out. But remember, there is no better way to improve times than with the P word.

I use beginners method on it, it's faster for me because I don't have to make sure 2 pieces are correct shape, just one.

Yea, thats what I do too. And also go for 4-look last layer. Trying to recognize all of the cases would just be killer.

I do 3 look, for lack of OLL's. OLL is easy, just look for the pieces that are the same height as the center.

thanks for the suggestions but I do agree with cyrus, beginners is the easiest but if I do happen to recognize a case then I'll perform the algorithm.
