Hi guys,
Thread about gripping the cube reminded me to ask this question.
I have recently started solving 5 and I have a SS 5x5 which is un-modded. It turns OK but tbh I think i need to tighten it up a little as when this thing locks up... it LOCKS up and I can't even release it without brute force.
That aside, my main question is: How can I better my grip to stop the middle layers turning whilst I am solving the 3x3 stage.
I have no problems during centres and edge pairing, but when I get to the 3x3 stage I find it impossible to go at any speed as I have to pay extra care to stop the middle layers turning and causing a lock up. It just feels very awkward.
I guess I should change where my gripping singers sit on the cube. I see others solving the 3x3 stages just as fast as 3x3 on big cubes and i get sad because I cant do it
Everyone else usually speeds up when getting to 3x3 stage!! I just slow down :/
Any help is greatly appreciated.
