I've been able to solve 3x3's fairly quickly, around 1 min 20 seconds, with the beginner method (still learning to speedsolve), a 4x4 in around 4-5 minutes, a 2x2 in around 30 seconds, so yeah any tips for speedsolving?

Welcome!
You should start learning 4LLL and intuitive F2L, it isn’t too hard and can get you sub 30.
