[Member Intro] Hi

There are a lot of really fun speed methods to try. Try looking at Roux, ZZ, and Heise to see how you like block building, and how intuitive you like your solves to be. Roux is a more intuitive method compared to CFOP, and Heise is completely intuitive. Are you interested in any other events besides 3x3?
I tried learning Roux, but it just wasn't working for me. I have a cube app where I just learned to solve 2x2 (I dont have one irl)

ZZ and Petrus are also great alternatives. Here's a great guide to choosing a method:

Nope, not true

They are bad for big cubes.

If you really want to suck at big cubes you should go with Petrus.
You said "people trying to recommend inferior methods"
And we're not talking about big cubes.

I was talking about other people.
Dudefaceguy just listed out some methods and how intuitive they were, and when he said Roux wasn't for him, I said that ZZ and Petrus were also options, and that he should use the Method Choosing Guide (don't even start about that again). No one said "use this method". We just listed out the options. Also, side note, when was the last time you actually researched about big cube varaints for Roux, ZZ, Petrus, ect.? They do exist, and have potential.
If you really want to suck at big cubes than you should go with Petrus as it is fast for 3x3 and not a ton worse for big cubes.
Wait that sentence doesn't make sense. If you really want to suck at big cubes, you should use a method that you say isn't that bad for big cubes?

So I'm rereading all of these posts because I saw @PetrusQubers member intro. I was so cringe. And saying Roux wasnt for me? 4 months later and I'm doing a month of Roux which I'm really liking. This thread kinda became a method debate ending with me expressing how loving (is that the right word?) I am of the community. When I posted that, I could not have been convinced that toxicity in cubing exists. Wow I was naive. The again, I was new. And its not like I dislike the community now. Looking back at this thread, I have grown as a cuber more than I thought. Can't wait to come back to this thread and cringe in a few months. Also I'm stating this on the record for Future Me. My PB is 15.25.

Definitely this. I have seen so many new members burned by these dumb arguments. Methods are mostly personal preference, okay? PetrusQuber, Tao Yu (and more) has shown you can get fast with Petrus. For the big three, countless people have gotten fast with all of them. What's really sad is that you might of burned the next Feliks, or Max, or Shawn, or just someone who loves cubing. What if someone you turned away with you dumb arguments could of been someone who frequents the forums? Just stop being dumb and let people have a little free will. Even if someone makes an objectively bad decision, it's not your job as random internet person to be their parents. Just really fed up with this. Please stop.
