Hi my name is Tan and I started cubing with beginners method in 2000. I learned CFOP in 2002 averaging around 17 seconds at that time. Learned 3BLD in 2003 and averaged around 2 minutes back then using the then popular 3OP (orient then permute with 3 cycles) method.
I stopped cubing around 2006 due to generally being busy with other things and recently picked it up again around Oct 2020 (after a massive 14 years break). I realized the scene has changed a lot since the early-mid 2000s, with new hardware making solving much more fun. My fingers were not what they used to be though after all these years.
Generally also interested in the math behind the puzzles. It is fun to see all the discussions going on in these forums!
