Hi, I an a relatively new speed cuber. I started cubing a couple of months ago but I put it down for a while and I'm picking it back up again. I am using partial oll and midway through learning partial pll. Any tips for memorizing algs other than repetition? I use a YJ Yulong because I heard it was a decent cube and I got it for $4.50 or so. But now I am looking for a better cube.

anyway, I joined this forum to get tips on losing time off my solves and I bet speedcubing will be tons of fun ☺

Welcome! As for memorizing algorithms, try to see triggers such as R U R' U', R' F R F', R U R' U, etc. so that you aren't just memorizing long strings of algorithms. And nowadays any 3x3 really works based on your preference and turning style so look around and watch some videos to get a good idea of a good upgrade. :)
