Hi!

I'm a slowcuber who likes to solve intuitively without using memorized algorithms. I started about a month ago, and I'm now totally obsessed. My personal best with the 3x3, using a ZZ/Heise combination method, is 2 minutes, 35 seconds, and that's good enough for me. I like to concentrate on solving efficiently rather than quickly. I also like to solve 3x3s one-handed because I do most of my solving on the subway during my commute, and I need one hand to hold on to the subway pole. So, I guess my main event is one-handed linear FMC.

My obsession has now switched to the 4x4, and I'm working on an intuitive method tutorial, since I haven't found any good 4x4 tutorials for intuitive solvers. It's a really fun method based on Sandwich, with a move count of 120-135.

I also like shape mods. Hi!

You should check out FMC! That's an event where you're given one hour to find the most efficient solution to the given scramble you can.

Yeah, I've looked up some FMC resources and they're really interesting and fun! I found an old thread about a 4x4 linear FMC challenge which was really interesting as well. u/cmowla came up with a cool reduction method that paired edges while completing centers for a very efficient reduction. Here, I found it: https://www.speedsolving.com/forum/threads/4x4-linear-fewest-moves-challenge.31779/

Hey, welcome to the forum! You don't have to cube for speed to join here.:)

Speaking of FMC, the last 2 podcast episodes I released are all about FMC.
