Hi,
I am happy discovering this forum, actually, I met some of you at Bilbao during Sept and at Eindhoven on Oct 19th.
I can already thanks jazzthief81 who really help me understanding the COLL pattern recognition, since then, I am performing some "COLL time attack from time to time" at home. And of course, thank you to Ron who guided me to this new world.
In 1981, I was 11 and solving the 3^3 cube in more than a minute. In March 2008, I decided to check if someone in the world was still remembering about the Rubik’s cube, and then I realized how late I was
... Today I am ~42 seconds average (Cross on the Yellow layer, 3 F2L, VHF2L, COLL, ELL). I need to improve my solving speed but my goal is not to go very very fast.
What do I like? I discover new things every day through the cube, this year I understood Lars Petrus method and it gave me a new way to see the cube. I am now going through all ZBLL (I do NOT learn them by heart) I am trying to see similarity between algorithms, it is funny.
What do I hate? F2L !!! I do not manage to solve them smoothly, it take me ages to recognize them and I spend more time "regriping" that moving...I need to train...
See you all,
do not hesitate to contact me if you are around Brussels,
Stéphane,
PS: congratulation to both Erik and Doudou for their 2 WR at Geneve...
