Hey there,
I'm Indy, a 26 y.o. international student living in Denmark. (Are there any fellow cubers from DK?)
How I got into cubing:
Last week I found a Rubik's cube in our common room. My housemate told me that he could solve it and challenged me to give it a try.
I've never tried solving a cube, so I didn't get very far. I was so eager to solve it that I took it to my room and solved it by using a beginner's method-tutorial on YouTube. It felt like a victory! That's what got me interested in cubing, this psyched feeling.
I bought a Dayan Zhanchi and I'm using the beginner's method. I can solve it by heart now, I just have to work on my technique, less moves with the cross and smooth moves/finger tricks. I'm planning on moving to CFOP when my time is between 1.5 and 2 minutes.
In my spare time I play the drums, make music on my Gameboy with LSDJ, I love to juggle, cruise around on my longboard, go to gigs/festivals and I'm into audiovisual media (filming/editing).
This forum is awesome! Nowadays most communities get transferred to Facebook, but I love it that I can find almost anything I want to know about cubing on this forum!
Cheers!
