I've scanned these forums many a time looking for help. I figured it was about time I actually joined them now that I'm more learned in the sacred ways of the cube, and pass on all the info that I've gathered over the years.

Sometimes I feel like I spend way too much time cubing, and then I remember how many years I spent prior to the cube entering my life.

My collection thus far includes:
--Rubik's Cube (storebought stock) --Many hours of wear time on it
--Cube 4 You 3rd model A -- Not so much a fan of this, I think it was played up too much anymore, but it was nice when I couldnt get my motions down (when they say it never pops, they mean it)
--Cube 4 You Black Speed Cube -- My favorite at the moment, nice and smooth, nice weight
--Megaminx --Found it on c4y, can't recall the brand. Doesn't spin too well, and I cant speedsolve them, but it's fun.
--2 Rubik's 4x4s -- My time on this has risen to approx 4 minutes (if I had to guess) I had one, it broke so I superglued it, never spun the same >.> replaced it but the second one spins as well as the first does now. And I needa re-learn parity
--Rubik's 5x5 -- its all I can do to solve this one still, need to get the algorithms memorized.

3x3 avg -- approx 40 seconds
4x4 avg -- probably about 6 minutes -_-
5x5 avg -- haven't solved it enough times for an avg yet, probably 10 minutes
Megaminx avg -- approx 3 minutes?

What about everybody else?

Hi and welcome!

Don't be so worried about your speed around here. No one will make fun because you aren't fast because we were all slow at one point.

You should really explore other methods as well because it may suit your style of cubing. (I'ma Roux solver ;))

There is no "best cube" rather there are only cubes to fit personal preference.

Thanks haha :) and I'm not worried as I don't really plan on competing. Just answering general questions before they get asked I guess? Every time I talk to another cuber on a forum or a timer those are the types of questions I get asked. Also, I like how you said that "there is no 'best cube'..." this is so true. As I said I have preferred other cubes in the past, it's just what I've been using lately to suit my needs.

Are you really a Roux solver? I've looked into this and didn't quite understand it at the time (a year ago?). I think I may give it, as well as Petrus, another look over because lately I've been having trouble with my look ahead. Not sure if I'm just not focused or what...

OMG YOURE SO SLOW NOOB!!! loljk welcome to the forum, seriously nobody cares what your speed is :p

If you haven't looked at it yet, I suggest you look at the ZZ method...I recommend this to a lot of people and they don't usually listen ;)
