Hi, I'm interested in cubing. I looked around this site to learn what cube to buy, what method to use, etc. At the moment I am the owner of a (3x3) dayan guhong cube. The only method I've tried so far is LBL, which is apparently considered to be for newbs. But I am one, and trying to solve my cube by following Dan Brown's youtube videos helped me get acquainted with the ins and outs of a rubik's cube. Nevertheless, I still haven't solved mine.

Please give me your advice about where I should go from here.

If you seek to get fast the I recommend you go to a better method. Badmephisto has a nice begginer method that will help later on when learning a faster method. Here is the video. But if you do advance from here CFOP/Fridrich would be easier. Or you could learn ZZ, Roux, or Petrus.
And welcome to the forum. Check out the Wiki.
