Hey all,
My name is Peabo and I've been addicted to speedcubing for about four months now. The cube has started to take over my life! Not that I am complaining. When I first started solving (a simple beginner CFOP method) it took me a full night to complete it. Much to the dissatisfaction of my girlfriend. And then in a weeks time I had gotten down to about 2 minutes but really struggling with an off the shelf unmodified rubix brand cube. So I got my first speed cube and my times dramatically improved to around 1:15. My current personal best is 39.66 seconds.

The reason I'm joining this forum is because..... NO ONE THAT I KNOW CAN EVEN UNDERSTAND HOW TO BUILD A CROSS MUCH LESS SOLVE THE CUBE. Don't get me wrong my friends are great, but I do want to meet some other people interested in cubing and this seems like a great place to start.

At this point I don't know what else to say, but I'm excited to finally talk to some cubers!

Welcome! Like you, I don't really know anyone in person who can solve the cube. (I don't count my dad, brother, or husband, but they're not serious cubers like me.) Hope it's not going to be too much of a problem for your g/f.

My girlfriend is actually pretty great. She doesn't always like when I cube (late a night when she's sleeping and wants me to come to bed) or sometimes when she wants be to be a bit more social at some sort of gathering with family or friends. But at the end of the day she deals with it, so not to bad!
