Okay, so I love my execution on all of my perms, I feel comfortable and fast *sub 3 on all of them* except my G's. I feel SO awkward with them... it's sooooo horrible. I mean, I do the standard ones with the R2 u' R U' R, etc, that's not the issue.

My issue is the actual execution of it. I watch these PLL time attacks, and I see that people like Eric Limeback, Harris Chan, Eric Akkersdijk... They're SO FAST. It's amazing.

Anyway - besides practicing over and over... (which I've done), does anyone have advice on a possible way to execute it which is smoother or flows better? I'm open to suggestion... I find these are the weakest in my PLL collection and would be interested in hearing how other people do the execution itself.

Have you tried to like, do the turns fluidly, like, instead of R2, do R2'. (no, theyre not the same)

Over time, youll get better, everyone does.

Also, your PB single and average are miles apart.
Your pb single is better than mine. O_o.
And COLL is awesome. (:

find your own way to perform it. perform the u's with your ring finger then the U's with your index for the ones that start with R2. idk...just find a way to use all your fingers.

What?? The G's have got the be the best flowing algs besides V that I've seen!

I guess it depends, I learned them all by muscle memory until I got really fast at them. I love Gs

That's interesting... I find that Gs need to many regrips (I can still do them pretty fast though, I think they're sub-2.5). V-perms do flow nicely though, but also not the best. I love Y-perm, because I don't get the awkward regrip in the middle after the F' where some people complain about, because I do F' just like I do U'; with my left index.

On topic, don't worry if your hands come in an awkward position because of R' R' R' or so, as long as it flows nicely, your times will benefit from it.

The G's are very fluid, as are the N perms (at least the ones I use from [cutex] ), and just find your own fingertricks to get your own rhythm and "hustle n' flow" with your G perms :)

I think that's where my problem with the G's are... in the re-grips. I'm okay with the V-perm, E is cool... F is a little slower, but still sub-3.

I love my N perms... I use the ones that Nakajima uses, where it starts with a Z or Z'. So smooth... as long as I don't lock up it's very fast :)

But yeah, I'm good with them all except the G's. I'll keep trying, I think maybe I just need to watch some more vids and see how they're done there.

I hadn't considered that R2 and R2' are that different... I'll mess around with that too to see if I can get a better flow going.

Ehm.. Alot regrips? Unless you consider moving one finger to another position a regrip, I can't manage to do more than 1 or 2 (2 where rotation in middle of algorithm) regrip. And even those regrips are fast (for example regrip in which your wrist travels as if you'd been doing R or R'

I use to have trouble with the G Perms, but its important to find a way you are comfortable doing it. What works for one may be uncomfortable for another. Experiment with lots of things before settling on one.

I like think of the R2 u' R U' and the R2' u R' U sort of moves as one fluid motion, rather than performing them as fast individual turns.

Hmm.. I use R' U R' d' R' F' R2 U' R' U R' F R F

But I can't decide whether ^ or mine flows better

Then do the RUD G-perms;

R' U' R U D' R2 U R' U R U' R U' R2 U' D and inverse and mirror and such.

Holy crap. That's WAY faster for me...
I don't know why, I know it's more moves, but I feel already so much more comfortable with it.

I'll mess around with this one, check out the cubing Wiki for the other ones :)

Thanks for that... In the meantime I'll see if I can keep the G-Perms I have and make them smoother too.

Thanks everyone for the help :)
