Hello!

I started cubing for the very first time a few month ago, because of my son who asked for a cube after a few days at school.
I'm not very good at it but got addicted and really enjoy solving 3x3. I had to learn methods (beginner then CFOP) so that I could teach my son, and he is doing very well and having fun! He is 6 and a half and he is now constantly below 30.It's a bit unusual to teach technics to someone that progress faster than yourself!
Hope I could get some advice to succeed in it!

Hello and welcome to SS! How much do you average?
Thanks! I'm around 45s, despite almost full PLL. I'm quite slow at recognising and turning...My son is much quicker, with an average below 30 and a PB at 20s. I guess he could make much progress, but he relies on my own capacity to learn...

Welcome to the Speedsolving.com Forums! What are all the puzzles you can solve?
My son can solve Pyraminx, 2x2, Mirror 3x3.
We solved skewb, Megaminx and 4x4 with tutorials. We also have in stock FTO, 5x5, Ivy, and gear cube, but not yet seriously tried.
I don't like smaller cubes (skewb, 2x2 etc). I guess our next move will be to learn 4x4 or 5x5, despite parities that confuses me... Would you recommend to begin with 4x4 or 5x5?
