Hello! I've been cubing for 6 months. I stopped practicing for a while due to not wanting to learn PLL algorithms (they look intimidating at first), but recently I've started to learn them (I know 15/21 and should be done and somewhat proficient in a week or two). I solve 2-5 NxN cubes, pyraminx and megaminx. My favorite cube is 4x4 and I average around 1:50 (and I've been making a lot of progress) and I average ~30 seconds at 3x3. I am just now starting to practice 3x3 OH and any tips would be great. I'm finding it hard to execute algorithms since I only know them through muscle memory. Does that just take practice to engrain them in muscle memory for one hand?

Yeah I had the same problem when I started practicing oh just a few weeks ago. What I started doing is really started thinking about the alg by breaking it into chunks to think about as you do it. For example, sexy than sledge or something like that. You can totally dismiss this if you want because I average sub 20 on 3x3 but one minute on oh. 😅

After a bit of practice I can do a T perm and Ua perm and most 2-look OLL algorithms (which are a bit more intuitive IMO). So I am able to consistently solve it, but not very fast. I'm going to try memorizing the next algorithms with this, so thanks for the tip!
