I was wondering, how much experience do you have to have to go to a competition because I'm not very good at big cubes like 6x6 and 7x7 at all and I've never been to a competition.

None, time limit for 3x3 is usually 10 minutes so there is no problem with competing, lots of slow people go to competitions.
