I've been able to solve the cube for about 4 years now, but I've just recently decided to step it up a notch and try speed cubing. Right now my average solve is about 53 seconds when people are watching, and 43 seconds when I'm alone. I'm hoping to cut those times in half. In November I will be entering my first competition. I'm not sure what to expect, but I've set a personal goal of solving the cube in under 40 seconds each time I'm up. I'm excited to meet new people in the forum, and read all the threads that will help me get faster. When I'm not solving cubes, I'm volunteering at the animal shelter, playing various musical instruments, and attending journalism college. It's nice to meet everyone, and I look forward to reading all your tips and tricks.
