Hi folks:

Just wanted to say Hi and introduce myself.

I'll be going by "NewbieCuber" because I truly am an absolute newbie. I was inspired to learn this skill via the YoYoExpert forums. I already throw yoyos and play a bit of Kendama and they have a "skill toy" section on their forum to discuss all other skill toys. I found myself endlessly fascinated by the discussions. It seems impossible to me that people can solve the cube in under a minute much less under 10 seconds.

I'm also a bit older than most cubers. I'll just say that I've roughly the same age as Hawaii. The state, not the island :) So I hope to hear the experiences of older cubers who are challenging their brains with new topics and new skills.

Currently I've got a Moyu SuLoung cube and it feels amazing. I have a few old Rubiks cubes from the 80's and they really are terrible. I can see why so few people use the original puzzle. I'm learning the beginner method from the book "Speedsolving The Cube" and I'm a big fan of videos by Spotty and Chris "haribo 41296".

I have a lot to learn and I'm sure I will enjoy speaking with all of you.
