Hi, I'm Jake, glad to meet you all!
I mainly solve 3x3, but have spent some time with 2x2, 3x3, 4x4. Currently average around 30 seconds on 3x3 with CFOP (2-look OLL, 1-look PLL), but recently getting more interested in different methods and looking at how the fast cubers come up with clever solutions for xcross etc in inspection.
Currently spending time practicing eocross for the ZZ method as I think it's an interesting way to solve the cube and I like that there are no rotations needed for the whole solve. I think Roux is also interesting but I am terrible at M slices!
I'm also interested in coding and app/game development. I currently have a beta version of a mobile cubing app, CubeHub, being tested by around 20 people. Including a timer, solve analysis, solvers (cross, xcross etc), algorithm database, algorithm practice, recognition practice, lessons, smart cube support etc. Seemed like a good way to combine my 2 main hobbies and allows me to learn more about different methods work and how to find xcross solutions etc.
Looking forward to learning from others here, improving my solves, and hopefully sharing some useful ideas along the way! If anyone has any tips for improving eocross or wants to ask me any questions, please feel free to respond!
Thanks all!
