Hi,
Just wanted to introduce myself.
Iam 13 years old and am new to speedcubing though i learnt to solve it about a month ago. Earlier, I had thought that 1 min 30 sec is a very good average ( I mean for competitions and stuff even though none ever occurs where i live in my locality) but then watching a few youtube videos of changed my mind. I have set my goal as 30 sec and hope i reach it before i get old.:D

Hi, I am from India (Hyderabad) too and first of all competitions do happen in India. Check the WCA website. The first thing u will need is a proper speed cube (a shengshou wind or ghosthand). Those local and funskool ones suck. I will recommend shop.scmu.in (the only Indian speed cubing store). I have ordered from them and they are really reliable. Also i would recommend Badmephisto's youtube channel. His tutorials are the best and i am already sub-30 with a zhanchi thanks to him. Also if u are on facebook i can add u to the speedcubing india unlimited group. Those guys are really knowledgable and can help u.

Welcome! Sub-30 is a good first goal to have. It was my first goal when I was averaging a little over a minute. That's all history for me now. If you practice regularly, you should get there (and beyond) as well.

you don't really need to be that good to be sub-30. the important thing is that other people think you are good :)
the only thing it takes is time and practice. if you work hard for a one month and look at your results, you'll know what i mean.

Welcome! I'm from India as well. Order a Zhanchi or a Guhong 3x3 (the best cubes out there now) and watch badmephisto's video tutorials. You'll become sub-30 in no time :) Join this Facebook group. This is where all the Indian speedcubing activity takes place. There is a competition in Delhi on June 21 and 22.

All the best (y)

thank you everyone

Ok iam sorry. Competitions do happen in India but none happens WHERE I LIVE( i have edited), you know in my place( a little far away from Chennai ). Its not really popular in my region. And my parents are not gonna take me all the way to chennai for a cubing competition 'cause they think iam really hooked to it.

thank you everyone

I'm from Chennai. Where do you live?

I live in Kalpakkam ( i doubt u have heard of it even though it is famous for nuclear power). some 80 kms away from chennai if u travel through ECR.

i'm from india too i and after speedcubing for a little more than a year, i'm sub 15 now i know only 19 pll's. the only thing that will help u be faster is practice, fingertricks and dedication. best of luck bro
