Hi cubing world,

I joined today to this forum. I hope I get my motivation back to learn some new things. All my friends don't cube and actually they hate it, so I'm a bit of a lonley cuber out here... That's why I hope to get to know the people better in the cubing cumminity, and I think this is the right place!

Currently I avg around 24sec's on the 3x3 and my PB is 14sec.
I stopped learning algorithms for about 6 months now. I have a lot of plans to become faster on a few cubes like the 2x2, 3x3, 4x4 and pyraminx.

I hope to find what I'm looking for and I especcialy hope that I will be starting learning algorithms and new methods again in stead of just solving each cube for 100 times and hoping to get faster.

Greetings,
Yudai85

welcome, im pretty lonely in cubing with my friends too, got 2 friends that can solve the cube, one gets 2min avg and the second i dunno, havent seen him solve it since i learned him :3, your pretty fast (way faster than me xD), but im not so serious on speedsolving the 3x3x3 anymore acually, i learn a new PLL every once in a while, but im not that dedicated i guess, since im more the type that buys a new puzzle and solves it by himself a couple of times, and then maybe check up algs to get faster (although the getting faster part has only occured on my 3x3x3 yet) pretty fun though, my family hates my cubes right now :o so i usually locks myself up in my room before cubing so i dont annoy anyone, sound pretty awkward now when i think about it x)

I live in Holland, Noordwijk aan Zee it's a small village close to the coast

so i guess that ther aren't too many cubers out there, how do you prononce the last part nor dwick panzi :fp

Hahaha not even close mate:P I can't even write that down how you should pronounce it... but the translation is something like: North district at sea.. hope that clears it up a bit

Welcome to the forum!

curious, what method do you use for the 3x3 currently?

Thank you, I use the friendrich method. Currently a poor cross technique, intuitive F2L with a few algorithms (it's my best step in solving the cube) then 2 Look OLL (planning to do one look some time) and then one look PLL but at the most cases I do suck...

I only get good solves when I have a good permutation like the T, Y, H or A you know what I mean:P

heh, my cross method is pretty crappy, and i got this habit of doing cross on top, just because i started that way, it way to weird when i try cross on bottom :fp

Hehe I know what you mean... at first I did the cross on top as well but when I started to do on the bottom it felt more natural (sounds stupid but ah well:P, it actually did).

But Erik Akkersdijk did the cross on top as well a while ago... and he holds the single WR, so it can't be that bad

What's the friendrich method?

hm never heard of Friendrich before...is it related to Fridrich at all? :p ;)

Anyway, 1-look OLL isn't necessary to go sub-20. I recommend getting better at PLL (possibly looking for new algs if you don't like the ones you currently use) before worrying about 1-look OLL. (Course you are faster than me so you can completely ignore me if you like ;))

hehe yeah Friendrich is actually a cousin of Fridrich:P no kiding.. that's what I use. You are completley right about that... But that was my plan to re-learn my PLL's and then learn the OLL's. I think I might skipp all the cases where you have no edge oriented correctly, cause I already use some sort of edge control in my last F2L pair, so that makes all that cases useless... If i'm correct
