I feel it is finally time I said hello.

After recently attending The Guildford Open, (my first competition and really my first introduction to social speed cubing), I have become a complete addict to this wonderful hobby! I have been solving for about four years but never had much desire to get quicker. I'm a CFOP solver with 2LOLL and 2LPLL my bread and butter.
I attended the comp after much persuasion from my boyfriend (cube-o-holic) and decided about a week before hand I should put some practice in, finding my average to be roughly 33 secs.
Then, happy days, lucked out and got 29.85 average on the day!
Also had a go at 5x5, the only other puzzle I feel I'm remotely any good at. (Got a 3;08 and 3;09) which is also pretty good for me.

But most importantly I had a fantastic day, met some great people and was initiated into a great community.
Thank you everyone x

So to now... I have started learning full PLL, (I think I know 9 algs), worked obsessively on my F2L, had a go at blind solving, (no chance yet but I'll get it!), cut maybe another 15 secs from 5x5, made my fingers bleed and generally had my brain dribbling from my ears.

This forum has become my new center of learning and general snooping area in the world of cubes!

I sit down to write tonight because I sat down to do an average of 20 and happily confirmed i've dropped about 3-4 seconds consistently.
This week I've also improved my best solve to 23.23secs.
And then....
15th solve.... smashed out 15.38! 2Look everything! And broke my cube.
Bent a screw I was so excited! I think it's salvageable...I hope. I only have three cubes 3x3, 5x5 and my very hated 2x2!

So I write now as my cube lies in a shattered mess on the table to say hi, how are you all? I hope I can join you sometimes even if I don't post very often (I can't type lol) and thanks again for this wonderful source of information.

Oh and I'm very much looking forward to seeing everyone at the next London Meet!

Sarah x
