Today I got my first ever sub 20 average solves. I started on Halloween of last year. I was doing this as I'm sick (got some cold from my classmates) for the Sunday Contest. I'm only using 3 looks LL although I know some other OLL cases.

In 91 days he achieved these times. Man, with a 3-look LL too. That's amazing. He even had a 16 in there!. I wish I could do that. I started in February so I can still make it to be this but man it seems impossible!

Don't be that jealous... It took me around 450 days to get to that level. It really depends on how much time you can give to the cube.

Seriously, a 3LLL isn't that big of a deal. I mean you're adding about 4 moves on aveage to the to a normal OLL alg.

When FRUR'U'F' is you first look, a sune for your second look, and a J perm as PLL, what's so hard about that?

That really is awesome. His F2L has to be insanely fast. No worries though I've been cubing for almost 3 years and I'm almost at that level it really does depend on how much time you spend on the cube. It really is a good F2L he proves it right here.

That is a lot of practice during those days. It really depends on how much you can practice. Matyas obviously practices a ton, as he has been going for a little over a year and is top in the world in most categories.

Also, you will realize when you get sub-20, like around 19 seconds, that it really isn't that quick. I am around 18/19 and I feel extremely slow.... lots of room of improvement. Getting sub-19 avg with a 3LLL is actually very doable. Continue to practice and you will eventually realize it ;) Good luck.

Ah that record lol. Actually I knew a couple of the easy OLL cases at the time, and my 2 step OLL was done in one look, because I knew the 2 OLL algos that i had to do (got familiarize). Now that I think of it, 19s is actually pretty easy, even with slow turning. Just don't hesitate/pause too much.

That's pretty good Harris. I'm trying to learn all the 'no edge oriented' OLLs that way if I mess up I can do the OLL in one look still. I'm sort of doing a 2/3-look because I havn't learned all the ZBF2L cases for what I' doing. I hope I can get as fast as you did.

Would you make a slow solve video? Like one step stop, but without explaining, and still getting a sub-20 solve, that would be good to study!

I've been cubing a month today and i've got 50 sec avgs, i've only just recently learned intuitive f2l, i really need to study diagrams, but i am useless at remembering stuff after my car accident, so this is actually really good for my head :]
