Happy Pi day!

NO-ONE should get banned just because they only know 50 digits.

Note to self: after next person posts, ask why I know more than everyone else on this forum.

You know more than Mats? Impressive!
I know more than Mats?

Why is it that I know more digits of pi than everyone else on this forum?

Oh, then you don't know more than Mats, no. Check this, and look at #17 (Mats Bergsten).

I knew 960 at one point, but you've got me beat at the moment - I can barely get through 100.

The question is how many he can recall to date? I will ask him the next time i se him if he don't replay on this thread.

What's interesting is how many people here know a large number of digits. I have NEVER met anyone in person who knew more than 2 digits.

I know, right. But mainly "normal" people aren't at all interested in something like that. Everyone thinks I'm weird because I know 120 decimals of pi, I'm into rubik's cubes and I'm learning to speak Na'vi. No! They're the weird ones!

Weird according to us, anyway.

9778! Wow. Better get started memorising.

3.1415926 I'm pretty sure. I memoed the all that fit on my calculator a one point. I just did it because maths is so boring and easy. I finish all the work early, then just mess around on my calculator writing things like 1 <3 b00byz (I can't write "ies".

Aren't I cool? lol, maths is boring and my mind wanders.

Note that if you really want to beat him, you need to recite the digits while juggling. http://pi-world-ranking-list.com/lists/juggling/index.html :)

Also note Mats holds the world record for Everest tests on the first 10,000 digits:
http://pi-world-ranking-list.com/lists/matrix/index.html

That would be a problem, since I can find it very hard to throw a bag up in the air while another one is coming down. And when I'm doing stuff like reciting pi at the same time... it's just impossible for me to do.

(another slight bump, and a double post, but for a slightly good reason. gad I need to stop doing this)

Well, I just found a guy who's trying to memorise 10,000 digits of pi, and he has a really good method, too.

If you don't understand the main text - I didn't either - there is a slightly more detailed explanation in the comments.

Not even you, miniGOINGS.
(Prediction of miniGOINGS' next reply: 'What? Really?')
I know. Amazing, isn't it?
