If you aren't living under a rock these days, you might have heard of the missing Titanic submarine that sank to the bottom of the ocean. It was announced yesterday that all the crew, including the pilot and the 4 passengers, have died. Among all of them was a loss that the cubing community must bear, Suleman Dawood, a Pakistani-British cuber. He was the son of Shahzada Dawood, CEO of Engro, who also was in the submarine with him. He was hesitant to go because there was great pressure in the place where the Titanic sank, but came along too, unfortunately. Here is his WCA page, https://www.worldcubeassociation.org/persons/2022DAWO01.

Looks like he was actually pretty good at 3x3
Yes, I heard about this tragedy a while ago, mainly because I am a big nerd when it comes to Titanic. It does really hurt to hear that they all passed away in the submarine, and I hope that they find the reason for it. But all of the people making jokes about it were stupid. And to top it all off, the Simpsons once again predicted this.
I hate society sometimes.
Farewell, Suleman Dawood
Rest in peace

It's very sad. The hull was made of carbon fiber instead of the usual titanium, and carbon fiber weakens after each dive, more and more. The main engineer made a huge objection in 2018 about the dangers of the carbon fiber hull. He was fired for his objection. The CEO was on the sub when it imploded-- he was warned by the engineer, and he ignored the warnings.

Sounds like he was pretty good.
I think they said that he was averaging sub-20??
I think it’s really cool the places the humble Rubik’s Cube, a toy from the 70s has gone to so many different things places
