Hello
I've started cubing in the 80's, when every kid had a cube to play with, but unfortunately, at the time I was unable to solve it on my own. Sheer frustration made me put it away for years.
And the distance from the twisty puzzle world remained until recently for several reasons, some mathematical properties of the cube I found interesting, the discovery of god's number months before, joined with the need for a new hobby made me progressively become interested in learning how to solve the rubik's cube, which was something quite impossible without help many years ago.
From that curiosity, I've discovered a whole world of puzzle variations and ways to solve them and a wealth of information that can be overwhelming at times, but giving enough room to explore and be entertained in a safe and fun way for a long time. From there to try to solve it in the least ammount of time, as you that are reading this should know, doesn't take much, so I've "restarted" cubing (this time with success) around August of 2011.
As for this forum, I'm not exactly new to it, since I've been lurking, looking for information, knowing who the community is, the general dos and donts, basically having a more passive attitude to learn the basics, and learn about the history of cubing and the relevant people associated with it, but since it's the new year's I've decided it was a good time to start posting and hopefully contributing something to this interesting community of people and also to our local community, that is currently very unknown and mostly unaccounted for.
Happy new year of 2012 everyone.
