Hello, cubers! My real name is Ser. I am currently 16 years old and I am a citizen of the Philippines. Now if you ask me why my username is Ressiol, I just thought of a random name while registering my account.
Okay.
So I first solved a 3x3x3 cube back then in January 2008, and I got up to sub 100 solves. I wasn't serious in cubing that time, so I just did it occasionally.
However, I consider myself to have officially started during March 2008 when my summer vacation started (and when cubing was a fad in our country) and started finding good cubes (that being a type A cube) good methods (obviously that being CFOP) and good communities (that being our online local community). I eventually tried getting in a competition, but I was so nervous that time though that my official average became far below my current average.
I actually started practicing F2L during April 2008, a month after I tried cubing, and got my first sub 20 average sometime during May (That was lucky though, I was still sub around sub 28-30 that time). I got up to as far as sub 17 IIRC (that was October), with intuitive F2L + 2 look OLL + full PLL.
I stopped because I wanted to focus on my studies. As if that wasn't bad enough, our local online site stalled and I stopped cubing completely. I still had my cubes with me though.
Tl;dr; I've been cubing since 2008, but I stopped 7 (make that 9 including my first solve) months after I started/became very interested and never focused on cubing again.
However, this October, I found the Philippine speedcubers' group in facebook as well as a cube shop near us so I returned to the cubing community, and I told myself it would be a good start again to register on these boards to get more information and to meet new friends.
I currently use an unmodded Guhong lubricated with Lubix, and am back to getting 17.xx to 19.xx averages.
My goals include getting sub 15 averages by January 2012, training on big cubes, and memorizing the rest of the OLLs (I've memorized nearly 35 all in all, I just memorized around 15 last week), and finally getting in a local competition sooner or later to redeem myself from my horrible average during my first and last participations more than three years ago.
