Going to U.S. Nationals?

Hi All,

Who all is going to be at U.S. Nationals next week, and where will you be staying? It would be nice to meet up with those of you that I know and actually meet those of you whom I have not met. My wife Christy and I, as well as Sara and Kirk from the Idaho Speedcubing Club will be attending. I am still unsure of our definite lodging, but we will be staying at either the Coventry, or at the Hilton Downtown. Please post if you are going to attend.

I'm going. I've been juggling hotels in the last two days. We made a tentative reservation at one, then discovered that it was described as "disgusting", "revolting", "made me gag", etc.; and decided to get a better one.

Hi,

I've been at the Adante for the past day. Luckily they have several computers for internet access here!! It's a rare find, this place that Bob hunted down. It's located in a really great spot. The value is very good. The size of the rooms are tiny though and not suited for cube gatherings, but 3 cubers might be able to work something out by moving the furnature around. Ya, very tiny rooms, but the bathrooms are one of the cleanest I've ever seen for a hotel, which is a major plus for me.

I'm here for ~1.5 weeks in order to enjoy the city; it's my first time here and I just spent a few hours this morning browsing Berkeley U as a grad school possiblity. Anyhow, same offer as I made over in the other forum - I rented a car and if you call me (my # is not hard to find on the net if you know my full name and go to umich.edu, or check the main yahoo fourm) say an hour in advance, to be picked up, dropped off, or taken to the Exploratorium, and I'll see what I can do for you. No promises though of course, but it is highly likely many of you will land at about the same time Thursday and I can pick you up without going out of my way. Disclaimer: this invitation only extends to those traveling alone.

Also if you come early (i.e. before Thursday morning), *definately* call me, especially if you want to join me in sight-seeing, and all that good stuff. I'll mostly be looking for optimal locations to take photographs and near sunset/sunrise times.

Any sort of map-related and subway-questions (they call it BART here), you can also call me if you can't seem to find friends availible to mapquest for you (it happens to me all the time, very annoying, friends should be there for you when you are traveling to strange places). I'm quickly becoming resourceful in these matters .

Btw, Adante and subway transits offer no reception for me, so leave a message if you try.
