Ghosthand 3x3 cube has slowed down...

I got a couple Ghosthand 3x3 cubes and I like them a lot. The problem is that after less than 1 day of use, it has slowed down and it doesn't glide like it used to. I have compared it to the other new ones I have and there is just no comparison.

I have tried lubing the cube with silicon spray and with silicon lubricant (the white paste type) and nothing. The lubricants make it feel "smoother" but it is harder to turn than the new ones. Also the new ones are much crisper in feel. As I said, no comparison.

I have cleaned up the cube with soapy water and everything, still no go.

I would like the cube to feel at least as good as when I got it, a few days of use is no reason not to expect that.

Any ideas?

Don't apply so much lube.

After 1 or 2 months, you have to clean it out. Wet a paper towel and clean the pieces.

I was about to post the same thing, but from what he said, it appears, it suddenly slows down, and THEN he applies lube.
@OP: Am I correct, or am I misinterpreting you?

Right, it slowed down without me adding anything.

I applied lube to see if I could get it back to speed, but no luck. I have also cleaned it thoroughly and still is not as good as new. :(

BTW I believe it is a version II.

I did an extra thorough cleansing and now it is closer to the new ones, but still not there. What I am starting to suspect is the following:

The cube comes pre-lubed with some kind of very low viscosity lubricant.
As you use it, the lubricant gets removed through touch and replaced with natural oils.
The lubricants I tried are not the best fit for this plastic.
A super clean cube is closer to the new one, but it lacks the original lube.

So I need to find what kind of lube they use.

The cube even sounds very different from the new ones (both in cleaned and lubed states).

BTW, the core seems fine and the tension seems to be the same as the new cubes. But I will check that again.
