German cube?

This kid at my school got a cube from Germany recently when his dad visited. It has a yellowish core, arched centers, almost looks like a black DIY. It has nice springs too. But it came with these very weird plastic tiles on it... Anyone know what it could be?

No I don't know but it seems to be good, may you ask him where he bought it? ^^

He doesn't know, his dad brought it home from Germany as a gift.

The tiles have a slidey/gritty texture. The weird thing is they curve almost into the cube. They aren't Cubesmith tiles btw.
